From Modems to Discord
Being born in the 70s, with a father who wrangled the computers at the local hospital, I grew up alongside those strange machines. At first, it was all about figuring out how they worked. But in the early 90s, with the help of a tech-savvy friend, the world suddenly opened up. Now I could talk to friends, read and comment on posts, download files, share music; pretty much whatever I wanted, a full decade before things like Facebook even existed.
Through the 2000s, Facebook and Reddit made it easier to post, connect, and share hobbies. But something was missing: the live chatter, the immediate feeling of sitting at the same table with fellow adventurers.
For me, that gap was filled by Discord. First, I lurked among the gaming companies I followed, then among the podcast crews I listened to. And when The Exorcist’s Codex was born, it became clear: Two Starving Gnolls needed a den of our own.
Now, two months in, our server has grown past 100 members; over a hundred gnolls swapping stories, asking questions, and getting the latest announcements. We hope you’ll join us too. After all, a pack is stronger than two starving gnolls.
